I've very rarely found writing to be a wasted exercise. When I'm struggling with a problem, or thinking through something complicated, writing helps me clarify my thoughts. The jumble of messy, half-connected threads in my head are forced into coherence by the linearity of the page. And out of that process (ideally) comes some amount of understanding. Considering the usefulness I've found in writing, and considering how easy it is to avoid and forget to write without some external goal or accountability, I thought it would be useful write and post things here. Most of the writing will just about whatever I'm interested in at the time, mostly technical stuff related to machine learning, but it will probably span a range of topics over time. Hopefully, this forces me to write down and polish up things that I would be thinking about anyway, and make them cleaner and simpler to understand. Even more hopefully, maybe someone else reading this will find understanding in it too. I'd be happy with the first, and thrilled with the second.
